Best Air Treatment Solutions for Cleaner Air

The most popular air treatment types of equipment

These days, a growing number of individuals are worried about environmental issues and are making efforts to protect the environment. The authorities implement new regulations for air treatment aimed at decreasing particulate pollutants in the atmosphere. The polluted air needs to be filtered before it is released into the atmosphere. The industry needs air treatment equipment that helps to improve air quality.

Air treatment equipment is a filter that is used as a dust collector and air pollution control device. It clears the air released from the commercial processes from gas and particulate pollutants. Air treatment equipment is applied in different industries like food manufacturers, pharmaceutical producers, plants, and chemical producers.

There are many air pollution control devices but the most popular of them are still cyclones, dry scrubbers, and wet scrubbers.

The first dust collectors that appeared in history were cyclones, created in 1885. Cyclones or cyclone dust collectors are air pollution control devices that separate dry particulate pollutants from gaseous emissions. Cyclones use centrifugal force for collecting and removing pollutants in comparison with other filters. When gas streams enter an appliance, they move along a spiral path. This causes the particulate pollutants to adhere to the chamber wall. Finally, because of the inertia, they fall into the special hopper for further processing. The gas streams continue moving along a spiral path and get out of the cyclone.

The cyclones are usually applied when particulate pollutants are large in diameter. That’s why their maximum capability of them can reach only 90% efficiency in air treatment. Typically, the cyclones demand other additional air pollution control devices, for example, baghouses. Baghouses are applied after the cyclones to remove the smaller particles that the previous cyclone system couldn’t collect.

The next type of air pollution control device is a scrubber. They are most commonly applied in manufacturing and processing facilities. Scrubbers also remove particulate pollutants from industrial emissions by scrubbing.

Dry scrubbers use dry chemical agents for air pollution control. These agents neutralize the particulate pollutants and turn them into harmless substances. The spent agents should be disposed of by specialists. Usually, dry scrubbers are used to remove or neutralize acid gas within industrial emissions.

Wet scrubbers contain liquid, usually water,  to collect and remove particulate pollutants from industrial emissions. A gas stream passes through a liquid solution or a liquid solution is injected into a gas stream. The solution consumes particulate pollutants and removes them. Wet air scrubbers are considered to be the most efficient among all air pollution control devices. They can remove up to 99% of the particulate pollutants. Wet scrubbers also include venturi scrubbers.

Consequently, the majority of manufacturers favor wet scrubber systems due to their greater effectiveness, compatibility with various budgets, and the absence of a requirement for extra air pollution control equipment.

If you are looking for a highly advanced scrubber system, Redwood Technology offers a cutting-edge wet scrubber that is a Multi-Vortex scrubber. Multi-Vortex wet air scrubbers could apply water contaminated with dust, sand, and even small rocks to capture particulate pollutants, different types of dust, and some gases from the air.

This type of scrubber is an ideal solution for ore and coal mining. Thus, it can be used in different mining, combustion, and chemical processes to capture gases. Also, in some cases, the unique Multi-Vortex scrubber design allows utilizing cheaper reagents to capture the pollutant gas with more efficiency than a standard wet scrubber.
